i bought the micro cruzer 1gb that i was thinking of getting. the led is not blue like in the prior generation without the stupid skins and software. i am bummed. i really like the shiny blue things. really really like them.

i ve got not much to say, but i am saying it. another stellar week gone by. a highligh of today was trying a few lines of french. made me wish so badly i was fluent. french is superior to english. i also kept answering the phone layton staples before and after a guy was talking about how i transferred from there.

nothing pissed me off today. i began to do some organizational things at work that should have been in place. i m also learning and trying maybe not to innovate, but do the best i can. so i am pretty upbeat. my package to maryland even made it! (wink, wink to the few people that know about it)

im getting lots of sleep. nearly slept through work. multiple alarms did not help. i felt pretty calm through the ordeal. no panic. just going about my preparations in a daze. not a terrible day at work either. i did a couple fun jobs. i hope all are well.

maybe a blue easy button? i think of the randomest things and blah blah keeping think about work. and thinking about a new part-time job. work all the time yea. i need to save this money and pay my debts. oh yeah. and then maybe something fun.

that s really all for now. i think today was pretty quiet and pleasant. no major drama at work. maybe i ll have an interview or two soon. i hope. the change is something that will be hard and pleasing. i could stand a couple jobs for a while.

drooled at mass storage and flavors of linux. probably will keep this one windows box. it s already configured. due for a reformat, but i can not bring myself to do it. i ll just add a couple hard drives and maybe some memory. it is a decent box. most of my daily stuff is just web browsing and email. that could be done on anything really. time to dig out my old machine. i ll look at a kvm to manage it. i wonder about the power requirements for all this. probably safe for now. three computers in my room isn t insane.

i think i have a pretty good work ethic and i try to take care of most customers as best i can. i think my attitude and behaviors need some adjusting. there is still much about my position that i don t know and i want to improve on everything not just the bottom line.

maybe partner with some other business that does not have wide format. photographers. maybe i can sell an hp 130n or two.

but today was a decent day. i need to buy groceries and do laundry. the 1gb nano is the latest temptation from apple. also still want to learn more about networking and hosting. something i could probably sell.

i filled out four applications by hand. it kinda sucked. any one online. all are at hospitals which seem like a way out of retail for me. also, today shared popcopy sketch with others at work. hilarity ensued.

also, looking to engineer perhaps a robust fun way to showcase some business card design. maybe something already exists so i ll have to do a search. for now, i ll post some of mine here and look for another way. day one of web submission. i am registered. i wonder who else is and what lovely information i will have access to.

i am nervous about the conference call and my job security. much paperwork to do and messes to clean. clashed with coworker again. sorry about that. i ll get things cleaned up. promise.

well i am not too crazy about the result, but i can live with it. blurry camera phone pics are amusing and i just wanted to capture some of my nintendo stuff in a format i could upload over at 4cr.

next on the agenda is to get the play-yan and following that perhaps design a nintendo-centric fanboyish paradise. hehe. actually, saw some cool nintendo shirts. and i wish i could paint my walls black like some people. the best part is the cover of the new nintendo power and how it integrates with the other items. so i guess this experiment killed some time and was not a total loss. hope y all like it.

man it is a thankless job. i see everyone avoiding it and i am just as guilty. in retail, it has to be done by someone. usually that person makes less and they put up with more crap than the rest of us. it isn t really fair and i am sorry. i dare not leave my area though or i feel like i get trapped somewhere else - like selling a printer. i don t mind, but i shouldn t be doing it. on the hand other hand customers kinda dictate where we need help. right?

whoa! read some negative things about narnia. glad to be exposed to many points of view though. this woman really went off though. some brit. it made it a little hard to see her valid points under the hostility in her article. then i read some stuff in french. im going to have to work on my languages skilles. they have lapsed even though i remain interested in them.

work was decent. not sure where my coverage was at the end of the day, but i walked out regardless. that was tough for me. i gain new customers every day and that part of the job is quite rewarding. all part of growing the business. it ll be in good shape in a couple years. growth seems certain. we do a great job of taking care of people.

i am thrilled about seeing narnia. oh and king kong. after that i guess superman returns. and let the hobbit happen!

perhaps i am too dramatic, but i don t know what to do. it is still relatively early in the evening, but i have nothing left to pursue. mentally, i have to prepare myself for another week of work and turning 25. another birthday is not a momentous mileston, but always gives one cause to pause. i reflect a lot and see tons of movies. it s not bad.

think i got the wireless network going at home too. both laptops actually connect at the same time. for whatever reason, i could not get that to happen before. it tries my patience, but i like messing with it. aeon flux - i ll need to see the cartoon version. mtv picks some interesting film projects. i am also starved for news on the hobbit. man to work on that would be a dream!

i just wrote a rant about losing my nametage and what it is like to wear a blue shirt. then i deleted it accidentally. not too much of a loss. i thought i picture would brighten this site up. i spend too much time browsing myspace and not doing much of anything.

i did write an article praising one of my associates. i try very hard to make the best of work everyday. i know i am lucky to have my position and take work very seriously. maybe too seriously because i have a tendency to get really stressed out. people can be rude and ugly. most are nice and understanding with certain technical limits. i am also not about to give all my services away for free. certain items require a free for my time. also, i am not crazy about competing with other services i offer. designing is a grey area. i want anything i submit to be crystal clear. less urgent faxes that way.

i ve got to be back at work in only a few hours. i just got a wrong number call and all the new contacts on myspace.com are clever ads. they sound interested in me, but want my money. of course, i want their money too. if they would shop at my store. enh. prostitution is a bad thing. my sales are doing quite well without that.

bloody numbers won t get out of my head. it is good that i have some success in my work, but that alone does not define me. i should write out a new batch of letters, emails etc. i liked the responses i got a few weeks ago. it just takes a sustained effort and dedication. i could use more discipline i suppose. like when i would run daily and practivce the french horn religiously.

anyone from the old quartet out there? those were the days. those were the days. before i have a few serious relationships to cloud my thoughts and dwell on our carnal nature. man is such a beast. an overdeveloped ignoble ape.

im torn about having my computer in my bedroom. i am not at the point where i can have an actual dedicated office so it irks me to have my 19 inch crt and two printers in such proximity to where i sleep. i guess there is more incentive to advance and make more money.

a laptop would provide a solution, but i know that i should save - i can do everything i need to with my current configuration. id love more mass storage though. thinking seriously about a couple more hard drives. hehehe.

yeah. another great lively weekend. i did discover that turning my computer off and then on again was an easy way to get the sound working. i was close to buying a new soundcard or a laptop to fix the problem. good thing i waited. i am honestly trying to save some money so i will survive with my current set-up. just need a little bigger room. i feel somewhat cramped.

i should probably stop leeching so much. oh well i suppose it is not the end of the world. i am not destroying freedom. still looking for a productive way to spend my weekends and evenings. seasonal employment is not out and if i start scanning all the photos i can get my hands on - i can imagine some late nights.

blah blah blah. i know few will stumble across these random rantings and insights into my thoughts. that really isn t the point of many blogs.

tried making some cards (and here i am trying to be careful) and they are not official so i will not use them. it was fun regardless. much paperwork to sort at my office still. a couple big jobs to work on too. i have a lot of numbers floating around in my head and ideas i can not grasp or implement. perhaps one day i ll have the freedom and authority to mimic brown (at least with packaging). another half-spoken idea that only i get but i felt inclinded to record.

401(k) began today and that was indeed thrilling. something i could have started years ago, but was not encouraged to do so. i feel like i may get financial things under control one day. if i could quit buying gadgets. well, i at least need to get a working sound card in my compuer. i know a cheap one would do, but i want something more. maybe a piece that i could utilize for an htpc.

yeah so this could be a bizarre rant, but i want to get some of my old things organized and i have obsessed a little over how to do it. what formats are available for all the photos and things i have collected.

first, i want everything digital. i can do some layout work on my computer. i would rather have single sheets than a layered approach. i want to be somewhat creative. i guess. i also was wishing i had a mac and iphoto to produce some albums. is there end product high quality?

if i want to look at pictures i am fine doing it on my pc. an album or scrapbook is just something to look at on the shelf. i made a mistake buying photos splits. they are permant ways of attaching a photo.

i also have 8.5 x 8.5 books and can only find 8 x 8 paper. of course i can print whatever i need on my 9650. sigh. double sigh.

i have been going through the pile of things that could be scrapbooks. scrapbooks don t seem too masculine, but i would like to have an organized way to look through old items. i found letters, photos and even my old rations card! it was pretty cool and i had some laughs along with other emotions.

i would like to get in touch with some old friends. that s been something i need to improve. i have neglected to write letters and emails to the people i know. i would love an update from any of them.

yeah. so i left utah and headed north about a month ago. it has been a positive move. i am closer to my family now and i have a new job. my 8-4 m-f schedule involves running a copy and print center to the best of my ability.

it has taken three years with my employer to get to this point. i am grateful for the chance to challenge myself in my new position. with a couple days left in the period it looks like i will comfortably exceed my budget. i did not shatter my budget, but still am learning a lot about what i am doing. also, getting organized is taking a big chunk of my time.
